Stephen Morris
With over 45 years’ experience across both public and private sectors, Stephen is a highly respected authority in regulatory compliance relating to customs, biosecurity, transport security, and broader trade-related activities. His most recent role was as Interim Director General of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) in Switzerland—a non-governmental industry body representing international freight forwarding and supply chain service providers.
Throughout his distinguished career, Stephen has worked with leading global institutions, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations ESCAP, the International Trade Centre, World Customs Organization, International Air Transport Association (IATA), World Shipping Council, and the International Road Union. He has also collaborated closely with customs administrations and industry bodies across the Americas, European Union, Africa, and Asia.
In Australia, he has led projects focused on aligning national regulatory frameworks with international conventions and standards for cargo movement, and has successfully supported clients in securing Australian Trusted Trader accreditation through the Department of Home Affairs.
Stephen holds academic qualifications in law, commerce, and international trade, is a licensed customs broker, and serves as a Professor at Charles Sturt University’s Centre for Customs and Excise Studies. In addition to his advisory and academic roles, he has served on numerous boards and chaired trade-related bodies at international, regional, and national levels.

Bill has also delivered positive outcomes in the areas of excise and licensing.
